HOT WINGS FOR MONEY!
Gather your team for a fun team bonding event or simply take your family out to dinner and support the Waconia Band Program.
This coming Monday October 14th, if you bring this coupon into Buffalo Wild Wings in Chanhassen and have lunch or dinner, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 10% of your check back to the Waconia Band Booster program. This event is the first in what could be a rotating fund raiser for any group in need of funds for their program. In order to make it successful, we need as many people to join the effort by simply eating at Buffalo Wild Wings that day. With your support this month, the Band program succeeds. With the potential of the 600 plus band students and their parents along with as many other participating groups supporting your designated future date, your program succeeds. The possibility of relatively hands off fundraising is exciting to think about. All you have to do is eat…that’s my kind of fund raiser.
So join us on Monday, October 14th for lunch or dinner. Present the attached ticket and help fund the best High School band in Minnesota!
The Waconia High School Band
Thanks for your help and enjoy the food!
After completing successful 2013 marching band season the Waconia Marching Band found themselves facing a problem with their snare drums! It had become very clear that the snare drums would not make it through another marching band season. The intense utilization of the snare drums combined with the weather extremes of the summer season had taken a serious toll and the drums were starting to collapse. The cost associated with replacing the snare drums could negatively not only the Waconia Marching Band budget, but the overall budget of the Waconia Band program. It left the directors struggling with how best to fund their urgent need. Enter the Waconia Lions!
Band Directors John Pohland and Phil Synder presented their donation request at the regular Waconia Lions meeting on September 10th. After the presentation the Waconia Lions members discussed the request, the number of students involved with the Waconia Marching Band program, how the Waconia Marching Band was involved within the community, and how they represent all of the District 110. In the end, the decision for the Waconia Lions was a no brainer and they approved the $7,500 necessary to fully fund the replacement of the snare drums for the Waconia Marching Band!
Pictured above is the Waconia Lions presentation of their donation to the Waconia Marching Band on September 17th at Waconia High School. Marching Band members receiving the donation from left to right are Sophomore Lily Hastings, Director John Pohland, Sophomore Olivia Thomas, Sophomore Coleden Wedge, Junior Kai Pedersen, and Director Phil Synder. Presenting the donation for the Waconia Lions is Vice President Joe Gifford.
