We know it has been a long time since you last saw us march, but it will only be a few more months! The WMB is coming back! We don’t know exactly what the season is going to look like, but the Black and Gold will be back this summer!! We are hard at work putting together a show and working to find safe performances for our students!

What an incredibly difficult thing it was to say goodbye to our 2020 seniors yesterday. It was supposed to be our Spring Concert last night, and not getting the chance to make music together last night will be something we will never quite be able to make up for. We hope to see them, albeit socially distanced, over the next few months at various events. But for now…
These seniors are truly remarkable. They are immensely talented. They are supportive of each other. They are extremely intelligent. They are confident, yet humble. They are well-rounded. They are hard-working. They are so much fun to be around. They do not let things keep them down. They persevere. They laugh with each other, and they cry with each other.
But most of all, they are good people. Some of the best.
Congratulations to our 2020 WHS Band Seniors. You most certainly will be missed, but you have left the WHS Band program better than when you found it, and we are so grateful for that!
From the bottom of our hearts, we love you, we are proud of you, and we can’t wait to see what you do next!!
HERE will find the 2020 WMB Cover Letter and Commitment Letter for our upcoming season.
Please note, we are asking for commitment letters to be in no later than the Monday when we return from Spring Break. However, the sooner the better! We want to start planning and getting the season underway, and the more people we have getting their stuff turned in, the quicker we can do that!
We know that finances are one of the biggest concerns with your participation in the WMB. If you and your family need to make adjustments to our payment schedule, please contact Mr. Pohland! The dates we have are mostly just to give you a spaced out timeline, but if there are other dates that work better for your family, that is ok too!
Attached and below you will find a bunch of things related to Marching Band!
1. The trailer releasing our show and trip can be found HERE!!! It is going to be awesome!
2. The packet for auditioning for Hornline (all wind instruments) can be found HERE.
3. Colorguard Meet and Greet Dates are scheduled for the following dates at Bayview Elementary: January 21st and January 28th from 6:30 to 8:30pm
4. Drumline Meet and Greet will be on Tuesday, January 21st from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM in the WHS Band Room. Auditions will be the following week on Tuesday, January 28th from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM in the WHS Band room.
At this time, we don’t have a cost for the season ready for you, tuition costs typically fall in the $400-500 range, and our trip is typically $400-500 as well. That is a good guage to help you plan, and we will get final costs to you all as soon as possible. If cost is an issue for you, please don’t assume you can’t do WMB. Please see Mr. P, Ms. Wilmes or Mr. Snyder and let them know your concerns and we will do everything we can to still let you march!
